This is not the website for the parish of Lundy. For information about the parish and official church matters, including services, please visit the Hartland Coast Mission Community, of which Lundy is part.
This is the website of the St Helen’s Centre Appeal – A totally unique and urgent appeal. It spans both the secular and religious. You could help our experts restore an important and iconic building and deliver an essential new facility to Lundy, to enhance all visitors’ experience of the island.
This building of architectural and historical interest is in desperate need of restoration, with the roof in a state of disrepair, which has affected its general structure. Restoration work is now imperative to ensure its survival.
With your support St Helen’s will be fully restored and will become an outstanding facility for Lundy Island. It will provide a base for study to give a fuller understanding of broader environmental and conservation issues at the heart of Lundy’s existence, it will provide a centre for exhibitions, lectures and even a refuge for visitors to the island during poor weather.
It will continue to be the religious and spiritual centre for Lundy and its many visitors.
We have already had many hundreds of gifts and we have the invaluable support of the Heritage Lottery Fund – we need to raise a further £75,000 towards this £1.5m project in order to unlock the matched funding that will secure the future of this project.
